2011 D3 X7 Pearl Slalom skis

Introducing the X7 Pearl a brand new D3 ski for 2011. The X5 Rose was such a huge success we decided to give female skiers looking for the “X5 Rose feel” a new ride to take their skiing to the next level. If you have tried the new breed of faster skis and just cant find the stability and predictability you are seeking the new X7 Pearl is the “answer”.

We started by recreating the deep riding, larger, bevels from the X5 Rose. These bevels were then married with the rocker pattern of the Z7 ST Diamond. The X7 Pearl is a bit wider than it’s predecessor the X5 Rose. This gives the X7 Pearl improved speed and glide out to the turns. The additional width has resulted in a very level ride. The added width in the tail supports the skier and keeps the ski from riding tip high. The additional width in the fore-body keeps the tip supported during the turn thus allowing the skier to maximize the load to the front of the ski generating more angle as the ski approaches the wake. Women skiers tend to carry their center of gravity lower and further back when compared to their male counterparts. With this difference in mind we also adjusted the flat spot of the X7 Pearl to allow female/lightweight skiers to naturally stand directly over the skis fulcrum point.
With a softer flex than the X7 the X7 Pearl is designed for the lighter weight skier looking for the ultimate in stability and performance without sacrificing control.

The new D3 X7 Pearl is the sister to the D3 Z7 ST Diamond. Both skis are at the pinnacle of design, quality and performance. Produced with the same aerospace materials and D3’s unequalled quality construction both the X7 Pearl and Z7 Diamond are the finest skis money can buy.

What is the difference between the Z7 ST Diamond and the new X7 Pearl?

The Z7 ST Diamond delivers the ultimate in speed and agility. The ST Diamond has a quick, complete turn and takes very little effort to ride. Once the Z7 Diamond grabs angle it is very easy to maintain it to the wake.  For lightweight  technical skiers who look for the boat to do the work the Z7ST Diamond is the ski for you.

The X7 Pearl rides very deep in the water creating unmatched stability. The ski continues building angle out of the turn that has to be experienced to be appreciated. The X7 Pearl does take a bit more effort to ride and performs best when skied aggressively. The X7 Pearl should be the first choice for lightweight skiers who prefer predictability over speed. For any level slalom skier looking for the most stable turns on the planet and extreme shortline skiers seeking the ability to add angle into the white-water before the wakes the X7 Pearl is your ride.
